Started as a child model (not a model child). Received my first camera at 7 years old. I have extensive photo experience from product, to travel, to special events, even divorces. I have been published many times, magazines, school yearbooks, Italian Vogue on-line, billboards, calendars, posters and automotive. Interested in any type of photography. Will do studio or location photos. Oh, by the way, I'm NOT on Facebook.
Digitals are not being considered archival... a print can last for generations and be passed down as a family legacy. If you want your child to share these images with their own children and grandchildren, even if the files survived - its not a matter of if they'll corrupt, it’s a matter of when - the technology of today will be long gone when they grow up! How will they even access the images? Technology changes so quickly - remember 8 tracks, cassettes, mini cassettes, floppy disks, diskettes, tape drives, and zip drives? New computers don't even come with DVD drives anymore! How many million wedding and family DVDs are out there sitting at the bottom of a drawer with no way to access the files? I want your images to be enjoyed for a lifetime and be passed down through the generations as your legacy!
"People are taking more pictures now than ever before. Billions of them. But there's no slides, no prints. They're just data, electronic dust. Years from now, when they dig us up, there won't be any pictures to find. No record of who we were, how we lived."
from the movie - KODACHROME
Sessions are for children at least 4 years old and well behaved adults. They have to be very still and be able to focus on what we are asking them to do.
Parents or loved ones are not allowed in the camera room. We don’t want the subject to be distracted or have a parent or loved one try to micro manage the session or ask the subject for certain expressions.
The subjects need to wear a dark collarless shirt. It probably won’t show in the portrait, but makes setup easier.
For girls, hair should be worn loose and down for a more natural look.
Explain to the parents or loved ones that we are going for a neutral expression to create a fine art portrait.
Photo-black backdrop. Child will wear a black wrap while sitting on the floor. Single light source on the child, placed behind and above me.
